I really want to thank the Kansas City RC for hosting this Control Line event. Got to fly a couple of flights on a 1960's Carl Goldberg Cosmic Wind a friend gave me. I sure don't remember getting dizzy so fast when I was in my 20's. I put her into the ground trying to do an outside loop while I stared at the model instead of looking ahead to where it was going. Amazingly, the plane was unscathed, and the OS Max S .35 I bought in High School had a little dirt down the venturi and the needle valve assembly bent so badly I had to take a hack saw to the bent part to back it out of the venturi. I had a replacement Super Tigre .46 NVA available so the engine is ready to put back on the plane and try again.
A big thank you to John Holliday, Randy Smith and all the members of the club who had good advice and help. Best of all my son, and my grandsons got exposed to Control Line in a warm friendly atmosphere with a wide variety of models.
I'm buildig a 1/2A Sig Skyray to teach my son and grandsons how to fly CL. They live in the country and can fly in their back yard.
I suggested to one of the club organizers that they make it an annual event. I sure hope they do.
