McDonald Apogee full fuse and profile lost foam build thread..
« on: January 18, 2008, 07:32:19 PM »
I am currently doing a build thread on Bob McDonald's Apogee stunter with lost foam wing constuction method on the AMA District VII web site. It is in the control line building section. The direct link is http://forum.amadistrictvii.org/viewtopic.php?t=974  If it doesn't connect directly you may have to cut and paste it into your browser address.

You will have to register with a sign in name and a password name to see the pictures but other than that there are no requirements and AMA membership is not required.

Included will be the build of a full fuselage version and also the development and build of a inverted engine profile version of the same airplane. Power on both will be PA .51 on a pipe. My reason for developing the profile is to be able to have the power system plug and play between the two planes and to thus cut down development of the power system for the profile and thus be able to fly pampa and profile with less development time.  The profile aft fuse will have carbon fiber reinforcement similar to what is being used on current RC 3D profile aircraft. Having flown these I have been very impressed with the lack of flex with this fuselage construction method.

Please address any questions thru that thread rather than this one. The reason I am doing the thread there is that we are trying to bring together all the Michigan control line interests thru the site to promote CL in the state.  This has been begun by Frank Carlisle and is being very well received in the state. Bringing alot of sport fliers together and introducing them to full blown stunt flying and building methods as well.

Bob,
I agree with Spaky. It would be good to post your build on Stunt Hangar as well as on our DV11 site.
You'll benefit from having a larger pilot pool to get feedback from and the guys here dig constuction threads and pictures.
I won't get jealous---promise. ;D

I looked at the thread you mentioned but I couldn't see any pictures.

Do you have to be a member to see pictures there?
