Title: The upside down airmail stamp of C/L airplanes
Post by: Miotch on July 18, 2023, 12:56:29 PM
Got nostalgic and started looking at some Cox models I had as a kid (wish I'd kept them after seeing what they're worth now).  As I'm looking for the green B/C model P-51, I came across this D model.  It took me a second to realize why it looked "off."  (Bad quality photo taken of a computer screen, but then as much as I loved them, these were also bad quality planes)

There isn't anything wrong with it, some one just had it out of the box and didn't put it back correctly. The wing is held on with rubber bands. Could have even come from the factory that way. The rare odd ball is the yellow Avion Bendix Racer that was new in box and just went for over $2400 on eVilBay!
  Type at you later,

Nah, last owner wanted to fly clockwise...this gets the lines coming off the wing on the "other side."

I'd wonder if the wing backwards would make it fly significantly worse than if correctly assembled. I flew a P-40 for another kid in HS, and thought it was horrible (with the wing installed right). Proverbial rock on a string, or rather two strings. Ugh!  :o Steve
