Title: The Only One
Post by: EddyR on June 15, 2019, 06:12:57 PM
This is the only Curtiss XF-15C of three built in 1944. It was built to test propeller Jet combinations. It was the fastest Navy plane in WW2 at 469 MPH
It could fly on prop or jet and with both for high speed.. I was at the Hickory NC aviation museum at the Hickory airport. As I walked up to the front of this plane I thought I was seeing some variant of a Bearcat. The high T tail looks very odd.

It would be interesting subject matter for a C/L stunter.

This would appear to be a perfect subject for another of Paul Gibeault's 1/2A/rocket powered efforts like his SR-71.
