Yellow quadroplane a Brodaks

Which full scale aircraft was the big yellow quadroplane at Brodaks based on? It flew amazingly well for such an unorthodox stunt ship.

It appears to be the Supermarine P.B.31E Nighthawk. This is a guess, from research done a l-o-n-g time ago.

This was clearly the most impresive thing at The Brodak.

Two throttled engines, big ones!  At least 40 (hopefully not over 45).

It competed  in Scale and did the whole pattern in Stunt.

Jim Sumner is noted for his creations.....he had an eight winged thing (I think) last year, and a tri-plane that flew pretty well at the Nationals one year....
When he abandons his bazzar stuff, he is a pretty good flyer....he placed very well at a CT/MA contest several years ago with a Simatar....

Power was, I believe, an Enya .45 and a Tiger .46....

Jim Sumner is one of those individuals that just oozes fun.  Met him when he had the tri-plane at a Muncie NATS.  Have fun, DOC Holliday

It was astounding to see this ship flying the pattern.  The little guy in the picture is thinking "Huh!!!"
