Interesting subject line is it not? The following content may not what you imagined the subject line would hint at however. See I have a small. perhaps even tiny collections of engines. This is highly likely due to the fact that #1. I am an engineer by trade and #2 I believe in only having only the right tool to do the job. Same can be said about the size of my private air force I plan on having. So anyway lets get on with the specifics. My current inventory of engines is as follows.
1. OS Max 60H gold head with CL NVA and Venturi
2. OS 40 FSR's also converted to CL
1. Old School OS 35S
1. Fox 25 CL
1. Old School OS 20. CL Missing the venturi, NVA Back Plate and thrust collar (Looking for those bits and pieces BTW)
1. OS 46 LA CL converted
1. OS 46 VF
All of the engines ahve very little time (The LA46 is new). This is all I figure I will ever need depending upon the current size of the personal air force.
I plan on haveing at any given time 3 maybe 4 air frames flyable at any given time. So now we have all that preliminary dull inventory task done and out of the way, I pose my current predicament and the genesis of my subject line description. After consulting the stars, my horoscope, a 132.5 year old monk from a remote monastery hidden away in the Himalaya mountains with judicious research into the pros and cons of my wife actually locking me out of the house. I have come to the convoluted conclusion that I need one more engine and with that acquired, I can put paid to my investments into CLPA accouterments.
Right now I ave squirreled away 2 un-built model kits 1 Forerunner kit and 1 Sig Magnum also I have my 80% finished Pathfinder. This encompasses my current air force as of this writing. I will maybe snag a Vector ARC or SV11 ARC at some time in the near future. I have the OS46 LA slated for the Fore Runner, The 0S 46 VF either for the Pathfinder or the SIG magnum and this decision is the bane of my quandary. I was planning to put the 40VF into the Pathfinder as it is designed for a tuned pipe, but as my current builders block with that particular model had my considering shoehorning the 46VF into the Sig Magnum. But for some reason the thought of that gives me that feeling you get when all of a sudden a highway trooper pulls up behind your car and proceeds to follow you for miles, for no apparent reason. Well it gets rather uncomfortable and has you mentally checking the entire maintenance records for your car to see if something like a tail light may be out. You end up unable to takes your eyes off the speedometer which ends up making you drive too slow thus advertising with Blazing Honking Bright Light Tells that you may have something to hide. (Of course worse if you actually have something that would make being pulled over rather unpleasant).
Thus the reason for the last engine I am ever going to buy. What modern side exhaust engine (Non 424) should if put into the magnum. I am shooting to a 50-51 Displacement preferably SE (or I can swallow the butterflies and go with the VF) I was leaning towards RO-JETT if available in a SE and Non 424 characteristics PA Possibly if they are available in SE and non 424 or even better something a bit more economical but still a install and forget power plant. Obviously I am ready to spend money but rather not if the end result is the same. These will be my mainstay engines LA46, VF46, and the yet to be announced purchase. The other in the inventory will fill any other bug that may find itself migrate up my nether regions in the foreseeable future.
So let the 3.856237 gazillion brain cells here at Stunt hangar percolate, postulate, misfire and propose as suggestion?
