Title: The key to get to Muncie is.......
Post by: Matt Colan on April 04, 2011, 05:00:55 PM
for me to get my license.........................and I got it today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  #^ #^ #^

It took 2 different cars to get my license because the parking brake didn't work on one (and that was the one I was driving the most) so I had to go to my grandparents and borrow their Edge, which I last drove last May.  Needless to say, it was exactly like flying a stuntship in a contest that you've never flown before.  After getting 13 points taken off, I was given my license!

Muncie, here we come!  #^

Congratulations. As Tim the Tool Man would say. "Your drivers licence is probably the most important document a young man can have". I remember when I got mine. Wooooo Hoooo. Now you need a cool car to pickup those girls that hang around stunt fliers. y1

Yeah, I was in it for the women too, unfortunately the ratio was WAY TO HIGH. Heck, that only girl I knew of flying stunt at the time was Dawn Cosmillo, and I never got to meet her!

Way to go Matt. if you hold true to the profile, you flying will now suffer and your social life will grew!! BUT, you'll be back.

Thanks guys! I have to agree that having my license is the most important piece of paper I have right now, because I feel so much more free than I did 2 days ago.  Now I need to get a job and my own car.

I remember my first drivers license.  I was 14 and it was a learners permit her in KANSAS.   Moved to MISSOURI before I was 16.  Had to wait until my birthday so Mother and I could go take the tests.  Car was still licensed in KANSAS.  Took our tests and Mother was told to come back in 30 days to try again.  I was the only one licensed to drive in the family.   So now Matt don't abuse the responsibility of the license.   H^^

Congratulations, young man.  Hope you keep up the desire to go to Muncie. I have a grandson, now 18, that will graduate from High School 1st of June. Before his 15th birthday he could fly almost anything in RC and some CL. I had great hopes for him. Then just prior to being 16 when he got his license, he contacted that dread G & G Desease which robbed him of his desire to be a great modeler, flier anyway with Gramps doing the building.

Of course I am sure that you will be like all the other guys on this forum, either never contacted it, or lived through it, or still living with it. By now you know what G&G is: GAS and GIRLS! It leaves so many nice model airplane projects just lying on the workbench. So Sad!  y1   n1   #^
Best of luck to You!

Best of luck to You!

we're going to Muncie this year, we already made reservations to go!!  And for 6 months, I can't drive any girls anywhere legally.  In Vermont, I don't know if it's like that elsewhere, but up until 3 months, I can only drive by myself or adults over 25.  After 3 months, I can drive family members, and after 6 months, I can drive anybody I want to, so driving girls are on hold.

However, having them come over here to my house or me going to their house....................................... ::)

I was thinking that I had the advantage over you, but I'm not allowed to drive girls under 18.

As they say, it's not illegal until if you don't get caught.  ::)

Well, it looks like we've lost him -- baseball star, has a driver's license, scheming on how to get with the girls...

When you're 45 and your reflexes are slow and your kids are grown up enough that you have time for models -- y'all come on back!

Just wait till a cutie says " Matty sweety...... you dont want to go flying today - I know its sunny and there is no wind - but I want to go to the beach and show u my new bikini... " Then you wont go flying..

The one issue with that scenario PJ is that we have no beaches here.  The nearest one is a couple hundred miles away.  Butttt.....................................I think I would take a look at the new bikini

At $4.00 a gallon I think we can rule out one of the G's, as for the other one well I'm 48 and I still fall for the "you don't want to fly" thing.

Oh well
