The Jet update (photo's)
« on: June 11, 2006, 09:06:21 PM »
The Jet has all the colors on it,it's going to get. I still need to touch up some parts and some more ink lines. But it will go to clear this week. Maybe fly it at SIG and if all goes well at the NATS.

Robert,

Is there a reason you chose to make the jet a tail dragger as opposed to tricycle gear?  Jus curious is all.   <=

Randy,

Must be Marine planes off of your CAT

I bet the Navy lets Lt Commanders and Commanders fly off of a CAT!   ;D

The Jet made it to clear today just as I thought it would. Looks good. I will post some shots in a day or so when I have most of it rubbed out.

Robert,

Awesome plane and you are quick.  I'm still working on an ARF cardinal that I started about the same time.  Im curious about some of your markings.  I assume VF211 is the carrier, which one?  Also you have 100 on the nose OO on rudder?

VF 211 is my old fighter squadron off the Constellation 1974 the Checkmates. Hence the checkerboard tail. The 100 is the first plane and the 00 is so you can find it on the flight line by looking at the rudder. the next plane would be 101 or 01. The red check on the rudder and the E is the Navy E for excellence we were awarded.

I am the originator of the real VF211 colors and the Bi-centennial plane for VF124 as well.

Is the yellow accurate to the group scheme or did you just add it for some more color?

The yellow was added for looks.  :! I am fairly pleased with the 3 week results and I am going to test fly this weekend. If all goes as planned I will fly this at SIG and the NATS. I am going to take T-Bolt #2 and the jet. So I will have a fighter old and new.

The plane came out a little heaver than I like but I have been asured it will be fine.  n~

Sparky,
Nothing against the other models, but I hope this doesn't mean that we don't get to check out the S6B at Sig, I've been counting on seeing it. y1

I will not be bringing the S6B to SIG as I will not have room and I won't fly it off grass.

Randy,

No Admirals - yous was talkin' Lieutenants and Captians like they were ranks that were next to each other - soooo, on a Carrier they would have to be "Marines", now
there are Lieutenants and Captians in the Navy also, but they wouldn't even look at each other except to salute!  n1
