Done in a week

I started this kit that has been sitting on the shelf for I don't know how long.  I thought about putting it on the bay, but decided to build it and have fun.  Took me a week to build and cover.   It is probably heavy at 24 ounces.  Covered with moneykote out of the scrap box.  K&B Greenhead .35 for power.

 Way to go Doc. If you're like me you spend so much time sweating the details of your latest stunt creation that sometimes it is good therapy just to "throw" one together and take it to the field. Should fly well.

I wonder if I could build something in a week if I tried.  I've been working on a "simple" profile for the last two months.  Of course, it's an original design, and I'm designing as I go, but still...

Maybe if I stopped doing paying work...

 Neato Doc! I find it fun and refreshing to do a smaller, simple model on occasion. Kind of helps relieve the "burnout" sometimes. I bet it'll be a fun one to fly too.

I'm doing the same thing with Ringmaster...had a box and plan with some not so great tracings on back.  After crashing Clancy's trainer ringmaster a few weeks ago I felt the need to provide myself with something to crash..er a I mean get back in the saddle   I got the parts cut out and am gluing the wing together right now, sooooo we'll see how it goes.I have another week before the monthly meeting.  I figure I'll give Clancy first crack to get even

Watch out for Clancy as I remember him taking a cart with wheels to pick up peices at the Virginia Beach NATS. LL~Of course it was not funny at the time.

      Nice job on the Renegade.  I always wanted to build one of those and never got around to it.  My brother-in-law built a Midwest Hornet back in the 1960's, which has a similar planform, upright engine, etc.  I did get to fly the Hornet.  He powered it with a Johnson 36BB/pacifier/Missile Mist/9-7 Top Flite nylon prop and it was a real screamer.  He finally blew the engine after getting in 14 or 15 flights..................it turned out that Johnsons didn't like Missile Mist!!!!!!  The oil content was too low.....I think around 17%.  They needed at least 25%.  Oh well, another lesson learned the hard way.

That looks like tho old veco Renegade. I also have that kit on my shelf with the idea that one day I'll get to it. Watch it doesn't roll in on ya.

      You are right about the roll in problem with this planform.  The Hornet had the same problem.  Maybe some extra outside wing weight would have helped......one heck of an airplane though.

Go look at the picture on the box.  It is a replica of the Veco kit.  Can't remember who had the company but, a lot of work was put into the kit.
