Title: The Great American ARF-OFF
Post by: Uncle Jimby on July 16, 2013, 11:09:13 AM
Oops!!

To all GREAT AMERICAN ARF-OFF participants:

It seems I got a bit ahead of myself on my website:  www.concentricbehavior.com

Although it appears that the online registration is working, it in fact is NOT WORKING.  Please print the registration form located on the events tab and mail to me the old fashioned way (snail or email).

Anyone who used the online registration process, please be aware that I did not receive it and that you are not pre-registered.   Tell your friends.

Perhaps by Meet 'n Meat we can get into the 21st Century.

Sorry for that....My Bad .

The inconvenience of the registration process is unacceptable and violates everything that ARFs stand for.

I'm too lazy to debate that point.

It would make more sense to skip the registration process, give $20 to each of the judges, and cut out the middleman. For an extra $10 each, they could let a guy fly a third official flight. Perhaps claiming that the RWO was not completed, if anybody notices. Money talks, BS walks.  #^ Steve

Do you have to prove you assembled the ARF? What if some one else glued all four pieces together?

Actually, you might get bonus points for that!  Excellent work to flying quotient.

I know that there are "Bonus Points" for flying a borrowed plane.
Are there bonus "Bonus Points" for flying a stolen plane? I have a sneaky, underhanded, lowdown, on the verge of criminal plan in mind.

One that Dave will be proud of.

I guess it will depend on what mood the warden, er, I mean Contest Director is in on contest day.  How would one prove it is stolen?  AMA number??
I like where you're going, though.

Will vortex generators be allowed or should we just leave the covering loose?

Sorry Jimby,

I am almost done with the coding and should have the online form processing done this week.  I put message on the form page that it will only calculate and print.  I think the calculate on the ARF contest is not a problem for most people since it a one event contest.

Heman

Larry, I'll spot you my 10pt if you buy a model from a Garage Sale on the way to the contest and pull a "Granderson" (come late).

Since I have them on mine, I guess you can have them too.  Penalties will be assessed, however.....definitely leave the covering loose as intended.

If you penalize VGs, you gotta penalize panel lines or any other decoration.

Given that these are ARFS, the covering will probably fly off the airplane at some point, which resolves all these types of issues.

Panel lines?...at an ARF OFF?  LL~ Not unless poorly fitted china-kote seams count. 8)
