Ball race clevises?

Hey guys, as always, I expect to get shot down for this, but the other night, while cleaning one of my quarter scale planes, I remembered that I'd fitted it with ball raced clevises. At the time of building all the pattern boys were getting their panties in a bunch over these things from MK, (now virtually impossible to get) but hobbyking are doing an M3 sized version, which is pretty heavy duty.

Considering those of us who use ball links have at one time or another had the cold day stiffness issues, I would have thought these would have been a good way to go. zero slop and virtually zero friction.

I don't know whether I'd trust them for 20000 flights with a barking ST 60 in front, but a for an electric, where the enviroment is clean (no oil and dirt) and relatively low vibration, why not?

It looks like they are made for a pull pull rudder linkage.
I'm wondering how well the would work on a standard flap horn. Lots of lateral offset, and meant to attach to a threaded rod horn?

Probably wouldn't fit at the elevator in side a narrow fuse well.
Besides this, I think they would work great.

A few people:)

The clevises I'm using are similar to those, and they're on a plane I built about 8 years ago, and it's had over 500 flights, and believe me, it gets wrung out.

While in bed last night I was imagining the setup, As I see it, it wouldn't be hard to either bend a stanard U flap/stab joiner, and then bind and solder a upright wire, and bind and solder a length of M3 threaded rod to that. If you were really lazy you could probably just thread the upright wire with a die.

I'm currently considering building something new, I might give them a go, and report back. Granted I doubt I'll get 200 flights out of it, let alone 20000!
