I just wonder what you all would build if you had the time,space or money to build what ever you wished....

I am one of those super fortunate guys who has the space, time, and a little cash to be able to build all I want. I have over a dozen planes ready to fly right now. I am always seeking a better flying stunt ship. Aren't we all? (I would like to become a better pilot too.) I have built quite a few profiles and am now mainly concentrating on built up fuselage ships. I got a Brodak Legacy for Christmas and have ordered a new Avastar .46 for it. In studying the plans I went to work on a 11% smaller version size of the Legacy. Mainly because I had an extra S/Chipmunk wing that is the same exact airfoil but 11% shorter in wing span. Thus I have shrunk the whole plane 11%. It will house a FP .40  When this ship is finished I will get started on the Legacy kit. I have several great kits to build; T-Bird, Jamison Special, Accentor, and a Ring master 576 that I got from Pat Johnston. In a couple of weeks when I have healed from my recent surgery I have a couple of new ships that need maiden flights put on them. You know, this retirement thing is the best. Only thing is you are now old and lacking in as much energy as you might like to have.

Today is nearly perfect flying weather here in north Texas. I am chomping at the bits to get one in the air...............Jerry

Hmmmmmmmm................. like Wayne, not sure I can limit it to 5, but here goes, and it is limited to ones I do not have in progress.......  One "PAMPA Class" stunt ship seems to last me at least 15 years, so what I am working on it that area should have me covered until I can no longer fly! LOL!!

Most Wanted:

1. B-17G from Hobby Helpers plans that appeared in American Modeler in August 1963.  I got the original magazine (have somehow saved it all these years!) and thanks to Allen Brickhaus, I got the plans a couple years ago.  It was the British NATS C/L scale winner in 1963, with 4 Babe Bee .049s!    (this one is the real GOT TO as far as my model building "Holy Grail" is concerned)

2. A Classic Legal Rabe Mustang. (have laser cut ribs!)

3. Another USA-1

4. Genesis .46 (have the foam cores!)

5. Stiletto (the World Championship winning version)

Now the remainder from a list that I have never built and have not yet started but WILL build (not to include profiles! LOL!!):

Louis Grondal's AMA Special, NAKKE, Sheeks FW-190, either of the two different Macaluso F-8 Crusaders, Denny Adamisin's Typhoon, Josef Gabris' Master (not the Super Master), Juno,  a correct Stunt Machine, Formula S, and a Sterling Polish Fighter (have a laser cut short kit).

In the stunt scheme of things I already have a definitive five mapped out:

1. Universal (own design, part one of a pair)
2. Aeolean (own design, part two of the pair)
3. Rabe Bearcat 3
4. Typhoon (own design, offspring of the aforementioned pair)
5. Something derived from the Typhoon, but with electric power. Might have to name it after something to do with an electrical strom

Honourable mentions go to the mighty Stunt Machine and Novi 3 which regularly threaten to knock the Rabe Bearcat back a few spots.

My next will probably be what ever the pencil creates.
For me the head scratching and erasing of lines is all part of what I enjoy!

Toss up between Hellcat or full competition stunt probably molded balsa.

Will probably change my mind along the way.........
Molded F7F is a possible.

Well, if time and money were no object? My answer might surprise some since I'm mostly a stunt junkie and been building & flying mostly proven Randy planes...

What I'd really love is to have the luxury of the time, space and money to experiment, since cranking out a competition ship every year or so eats up most of my available shop time...is to try a few of my own designs for stunt, which of the 5 not in any particular order would be:

1) an original - typical lawn dart, but a different look.
2) XF-88B Voodoo (I think this would make a cool pipe ship... of course the thing would really be pushing the limit's of cartoon scale)

3) Edge 540

4) De Havilland D.H.112 Venom

5) DC-3 twin (yes, a passenger ship for stunt, I know, stupid, but I want to put terrified passengers faces in all the windows, heh heh)

And I would want all of them to be top tier level competitive, so they would not be true to scale by any means, more cartoon scale.
Anyways, this would be my fantasy list if I had unlimited time and resources... Now back to reality and the grind at work.

1)Goldberg Shoestring ( just like the one I received in 1968 at the age of 5) orange  with red trim.
2)the Sheik by Jack Sheeks( thing looks like its doing mach IV sitting still) if you haven't seen it go to baxters website and chack it out.
Actually 3,4,5 could be some of the planes in Jack Sheeks basement

Very unfortunately, I have only seen YOUR B-17s fly on video.  Way too impressive, from all viewpoints.  They are the most "IMPRESSIVE" stunt planes I have ever seen, regardless of genre.

Mine will only fly level, retract the gear, lower the flaps, and have working throttles, etc., but I will be ecstatic when it flies.

1: Lighter Lancaster Take apart- Dont fancy a b17 and doing the nacelles ( not that great at rounded nacelles )
2: Special Edition painted in Ted's Scheme as seen in 2004
3: Miss America Mustang ( Painted in Pauls Newer colour scheme not the original one )
4: .35 540 sq Thundegazer ( Painted in Current colour scheme but Green/Gold with .61 ( Makes sense to me... )
5: Twin Mustang with 2 x 61's - perhaps not for contest flights but for fun

and 6 has been on my wish list for a while : A Semi Aerobatic Autogyro with current carbon fiber blades and vector thust / vector blade technology. With .61 sized engine.

I actually have a "top secret, level 21 security clearance, super duper piped, Scale Stunter" I have been working on with Ron Burn for a few years.  Unfortunately, my Adult ADHD is a great hindrance..........

And a fully stunt capable B-17 would be my final straw....... but again, Adult ADHD, and untreated.   If I built one of those and it flew well, I would probably never build another stunt plane.......

(but I have considered a "smaller than yours" Lancaster with (4) OS .10FSRs..........)

Do you have plans for the P-61? I have CAD plans for that airplane in profile scale for twin 1/2A and twin .35 engines.

Pat: No I was going to sratch build it... based on existing frames .. I think weight is an issue here..
Looking at it - Its not that complex mustang fuse have been done 100 times, jsut make the wing with a gap in the middle .

Being retired/disabled on ssi does suck...
Between the time I stopped working and finally got ssi I lost the house and became seperated.
So Prior to coming to NYC to take cae of my I was living full time in an rv. Hopping from  BLM property to blm property.
So if I'm lucky I'll save enough to either fix the rv or repace it with a trailer and something to pull it.. That would allow me to build more. But right now I'm taking care of mom.. and my b/p runs 160/95 and my dr is 2500 miles from me.

I am sure that you know that the fuselage of the twin Mustang is longer than the fuselage of the Mustang. It has a longer nose. If you would like I will e-mail you the plans for the profile scale bird it has a 64.3" wingspan and 654 square inches.

Well, I decided to respond.   I would need a shop the size of the work hanger at the 64 Dallas NATS(Grand Prairie NAS).  With all the benches so I could lay out all the kits that are availble.  But, right now I have several kits and plans I would like to start on.  But, there is one at the head of the list just recieved that will have to wait until I return from the VSC.  Then I will start on it plus the pictures.
