https://www.magnetsource.com/products/ca41lwh

I got my flat sheets very cheap at a local HVAC ducting fabricator....Cut down a scrap cut off piece to 20 wide by 36 long for me...$5 bucks and out the door under 10 minuets talking to the shop forman, cut cash and done

I do mine a little weird I guess. As long as it's all straight, should be cool. Haha. Here's those magnets. The big plastic hold down things make a fine fuse jig.

Dane.
Don't know if Joey told you. But that biulding board you have there.
I bought that from Bob Keeshan's (Captain Kangaroo) nephew. He was a model builder for one of the studio's back in the day.
Glad to see you putting it to good use.

Absolutely. And I'm so grateful for it. It's literally all I use. I use the magnetic base and magnets, or sometimes the machined steel squares on a sheet of glass for some things. I don't even remember how I did things before this!!

I'm curious how you do scratch built tapered elliptical wings like on a TBird? Is there a fixture for this?

I would guess the things you need to jig in this case would be the spar and ribs. the idea being these are the only things that are square.  the leading and trailing edge not being straight would be determined by the length of the ribs.  but just a guess
