The Red Hot Angel is a little gem designed by Walt Musciano in the 50s. There is no doubt that his OTS legal Stunt Rocket influenced it. As far as I know, mine is the only flying version in existence.

I will get some basic info from my rendition tonight and post it tomorrow.

Mine is powered by an LA .15 turning a Master Airscrew 7-6.

It’s fast, flies like it’s on rails and does a very respectable pattern – I may even enter it in classic.

This is my idea of fun – quiet, fast, very nimble and a head turner, as most people have never seen one.

My mistake - It was published in Model Airplane News (remember when it was a real magazine???) in January, 1982.

The span is 29.5 inches and mine weighs 16.5 ounces!!

Remember when we couldn't wait for the next issue to come out.. Now, unfortunately, they should change the name to "RC Model News" since "Model Airplane News" no longer covers all models!

The magazine, as pictured above in the earlier post, really is January, 1982 Model Airplane News.  There is nothing in the article that even suggests that this design evolved from something that could make this one OTS legal.

This made me curious as to if we knew when it was actually designed.  Neat looking small plane!

I watched Bob Z. put that red Hot number through it's paces today. One sweet flying plane ( the pilot had quite a bit to do with it). Looks great in the air, and with the stock mufler on the LA .15 it just purrred around the circle.

The article was published in 1982 but Walt couldn't pinpoint the design date although he said it was a later model.
Definitley influenced by the Stunt Rocket.

Anyone wanting to build a fun plane should check out the Angel.

You'll also be most pleased by how it flies.
