THANKS to everyone who supported our meet in Lee, MA this past weekend.  Great weather in a nice setting. Congrats to the winners and "almost" winners.  FIVE beginners competed, hopefully a good sign!

Got any pictures/videos? I'm originally from Haverhill, MA and spent 17 years in Georgetown, MA Always interested in happenings around Massachusetts.

Now I live in Florida and enjoy year-round outside activities .... except this week. TS Fay has buggered that one up.  n~

What a contest! What a site! Absolutely amazing. The turnout in expert was impressive! Bill Suarez flew amazingly. I sucked in five different colors.

This is by far the BEST contest in the northeast US.

Hey Larry - Another Florida transplant huh? I'm in Clearwater Fl now, originally from Methuen Mass (right on the Merrimac River off Riverside Dr.), and I get a kick out of any C/L stuff I see on the boards from Mass too. I never flew any C/L in Mass except some Cox 1/2A in a field next to my house as a kid.

I never knew C/L was that popular, or about the "big planes", I lived in a vaccuum and saw them as just a really cool "toy". I lucked out in that for a while my mom worked in the Hobby Shop in the Methuen Mall (before they knocked the mall down) and her boss would let her bring home a lot of the returns after Christmas. There was never anything wrong with the 1/2A stuff, I guess the kids just couldn't figure out how to start those 1/2A's, heh heh... I was thrilled to get a PT19!!!  #^

I snapped that thing back together more times than I could count, and then rubber banded it, then packing tape, and my brother finally put it out of it's misery with an M-80 on it's last flight. LL~

Michael
Lee, Mass is near Stockbridge- famous home of Alice's Restaurant*- which  isn't around anymore (it's now Theresa's Stockbridge Cafe.) But, as the song says, "Alice didn't live in a restaurant. She lived in the church nearby the restaurant..." And the old Trinity Church, where Alice once lived and where the saga began, has become home to The Guthrie Center and The Guthrie Foundation.
*You can get anything you want at Alice's Restaurant

Walk right in it's around the back
Just a half a mile from the railroad track

We have another meet in September if you are in the area.

Hey to All, Good Evening,

If you want to see the pictures that I took at the Lee Mass. Meet I'd be more than happy to "E" Mail them to you since I don't know how to put them up on this site or any other site. My "E" mail Address is: rlampione@nyc.rr.com .
Or if whoever wants to put them up I'll forward them to you using the Picasa2 Program and you can post them for all to see. We had a great time at the Hummel Camp BBQ and the weather was just unbelievable for the two days of the contest.
Whoever didn't show missed out on some great flying and a hell of a lot of fun.

Remaining yours in STUNT,

Bob "Champione" Lampione

PS: That's the second best meet on the East, the other two are run by yours truly at the Beautiful and Picturesque Flushing Meadows Park Flying Site. Our next Meet there will be "The Joe Ortiz Memorial Stunt Bash" being held on Sept 28th and before that the Palisades Contest and then the Mass Cup on the weekend of the 20th of Sept. back at Lee.

Are there any hotels near the flying site?

There is Super8 motel half a mile away plus Lee is full of motels, inns and B&B's. Next Lee contest will be on September 20-21.

Super8 phone number in Lee is 413-243-0143
