Thanks Bob Hunt!
« on: October 05, 2007, 03:31:30 PM »
I got an e-mail from Bob today (about motorbikes) and he mentioned that he was handing over the duties of Editor of Model Aviation soon.

I think that we all owe Bob a big thanks for his treatment of our sport....not only at Model Aviation, but at his prior position with Flying Models!

Bob is not only an innovator but a great guy and a tremendous asset to air-modeling. Fortunately for us, he will remain as Editor Emeritus of Model Aviation, and I know that he will keep the new editor from straying too far from control line and competition....despite the apparent numbers.

Thanks Bob, for all that you've done!

I totally agree!  Bob has done a stellar job in his Editor duties at Model Aviation AND previously at Flying Models.  Both Magazines had C/L stunt coverage during his tenure, at a  time when CLPA was no longer the "Big Dawg" on the block.

A hearty THANK YOU, Bob!  And best wishes with your future endeavors.

Amen,

Although I don't know Bob personally, his articles have always been an inspiration, and undoubtedly contributed greatly to my return to CL Stunt.  Great job Bob and hope you keep writing.

My thanks to Bob also,  he acted surprised when I told him that his and Dave Brown's articles were the first thing I would read in "Model Aviation" at VSC one year.  I also will never forget the first time I met Bob, but, that is another story.  Have fun,  DOC Holliday

I first met Bob at the Tri-Cities Nats in 1987 (right?). Anyway, he's a great guy, an incredible
flyer and builder, and INNOVATOR. I talked to him a few months ago, and he's still innovating,
and it will continue to benefit our hobby.

I certainly wish Bob the very best, his work as a writer and editor have always been outstanding.

As for motorcycles, I'm afraid many of us are hooked. Even though I haven't owned a bike for
many years, I love them. And my younger brother has a Road King which he has over 37K miles
on. I know that Rich, Windy, Bob and many others all own some pretty hot motorcycles, I
envy them.

I am happy to say that Bob and I have been friends for a long time. He has developed many items that will have an impact on stunt as long as the event is run.
Bob, thanks, and we wish you well!

I met Bob in the seventies when he had a lot more hair.   :##

He has been a great source of equipment and information for me and inspired me to try many new ideas. As long as people like Bob stay connected to our hobby, it will remain alive and well.

I worry about him on his motorbikes and pray that he stays safe.

Take care,

It was my first VSC. My wife and I were sitting at a table at the banquet, and here came Mr. hunt, Mr. Werwage, and Mr. Tiahrt and his wife, and they all sat down at our table. Needless to say, I was very excited to meet these gentleman. We talked about motorcycles, airplanes, and stuff in general. I was very impressed with all of them, and it really made that VSC a very memorable one. By the end of the evening. It was Bobby, Billy, and Warren. Bob is so knowledgeable about model aviation in general, and so easy to converse with. We are so fortunate to have someone of his caliber writing about the stuff we all love.

Yes! There was also guitar talk. I used to play bass in another life in a country band. I meant for that subject to be in the stuff section. LL~ Also found out that Billy and Bobby both ride high powered super bikes, while I ride a lowly Harley Sportster of 1984 vintage. That was the year I also met Mr. Gialdini, and found that he had worked for Harley Davidson for years. Very interesting. He had worked on the V-Rod project before he retired. VSC is the place to meet all of your C/L hero's that you have been reading about for years, and ask all those stupid questions. It is really neat to find out that they are real people.

Hooray for Bob Hunt!!!!!

Seriously Bob is truly a unique individual, a great modeler (not only in CL), a terrific guy and a first class friend!  They don't come any better.

Further, Bob will likely continue to show us all the way for a long time to come!!!!!
