Peace to all America's Veterans past and present. You've defended Freedom well.

Thanks to all who fought the War to End All Wars, even though you're gone.
Thanks to everyone since then who stepped up to the plate in times of need, when it turned out that the pundits were wrong.
Thanks to all who came before.
Thanks to everyone who will be stepping up in years to come.

Well said, Tim. Dad was USAAC/USAF from '37 to '61, flew in Europe, N. Africa, Italy, and So. Pacific in WW2. Oldest brother failed the physical, but worked for NASA at Moffett. Middle brother was USAF for 14 years, then a civy rokit scientist at China Lake (Sidewinder program) for another 15 or so. Me, I failed the physical (hypoglycemia), but managed to make some parts for RPV's and other DOD stuff.
I do want to point out the downside of this holiday. My wife, being an SSA employee, was home today. Not my idea of an ideal Friday. %^ Steve

Regretfully I never served in the military, I have been the only one in my family that did not do such a noble deed. All my brothers served in the Army and Air Force. My brother's sons served in the Marines with multiple tours in Iraq and Afghanistan seeing much action and suffering wounds from it. Lastly my youngest son served in the Marines with (2) tours in Iraq returning home safely. I thank the good Lord for their safe return and their honorable service to our country and I thank all of the veterans for their service to the people of our great nation and especially am thankful to those that gave their all. God Bless.

There are many Thousands that never served in the military. That is not a bad thing because there are also many thousands that are needed to support those that are there. Without the support on the back burners, then those on the firing line would have it a lot worse. I will not get into those that demean our military and our freedoms, however, from someone somewhere:
"We must remember that it’s the warrior, not the preacher that gives us freedom of religion. It’s the warrior, not the reporter that gives us freedom of speech. It’s the warrior, not the judge that gives us the right to trial. It’s the warrior, not the politician that gives us the right to vote. And, it’s the warrior, not the professor that gives us liberty.
