Nobody cares.  The Northwest Skyraiders' Stuntathon is next weekend.  Everyone is girding his loins for it.

1,2,3 in Classic..all Ring Masters
1,2 in Expert PAMPA again ..Ring Masters.

No folding wings from what I read on the event. Not sure as was unable to attend.

The preceding event 'Ring Master round up' I did see folded RM wings.
Guess all the ones that were destined to fold in 30mph winds did it at the Round up?

Subject: Texas 2011 Control Line Championships..Update Sunday

Update Sunday.........even better for the Brotherhood of the Ring.............!

Tons of wind today, but the Brothers flew. I did not want to fly, but Bro David (Crash) Gresens literally made me.

I brought out my S-1.....and then went back to the car and got my 576. When I brought out the 576, David said take it back..........undecided on which to fly (WIND), I did take it back. So David and I flew our little S-1 Ringmasters and the Results are shown on the attached photos. We got a first and second in expert with our S-1s...........amazing. Due to the amazing little S-1 as well as the wind and other factors........ we will take it.

Lots of folks did not want to deal with the wind and stayed home.
So the 2011 Texas CL Championships, our Ringmasters got...............2,3,4 in OTS.............1,2,3 in Classic...............1,2 in Expert PAMPA class.......SWEET!!

See the photo attached.

Bro Dee Rice
Saturday: Too fun.............David Gresens and I and Richard Staight flew our Ringmasters today, Saturday...........2,3,4 ( Frank McMillan with "Big Job" in first) in Old Time Stunt and 1,2,3 in Classic..............What a hoot............almost no one else few as the wind was 25 to 30 and temperature was 99 degrees F hot..............brutal. I know, I know , it could be worse, but we had 80% humidity!!

We will try again tomorrow..........but same conditions. We don't expect much competition, because no one but a Ringmaster flier..................will fly..... :-)

Also, for what it is worth, Dee Rice posted this today, about the Dallas C/L Contest, on The Brotherhood of the Ring Forum:

Subject: Ringmasters Take Dallas Contest by (wind) Storm

I was not able to go the this year's contest, but David Gresens wrote the following. Ringmasters 1,2,3 in OTS.......1,3,4 in Classic.......and 1st in Expert. Not to bad for our little S-1 Ringmaster.

" Dallas was interesting! Wind was about 20-30 most of the day. Saturday Ringmasters were 1-2-3 in OTS. No other airplanes were brave enough to fly. Both of Richard Staight's flights were interesting, but he stayed in the air. Mark Holub had some engine problems, but we managed an official flight. Classic had same 3 RM's with a guy from Arkansas. Ringmasters were 1-3-4, with some very interesting up-wind flying!!!! Still nothing hit the ground too hard.

Sunday saw me and Tom Farmer in expert, Mike Greb in advanced, and the guy from Ark. and another guy I didn't know in Intermediate. I put in what would have been a 540 in Houston, except that I left out my triangles. The guy from Ark. got upwind and crashed in a spectacular yard sale, spreading parts of airplane and engine everywhere. Tom edged me out in flight one, so I had to fly again. Mike Greb's engine quit in the square eight, but he wind flew the inside loop and the engine diesel started and he finished without a hiccup. The wind was now at gale force!!! My back up RM flew like a champ in flight 2, and Tom Farmer's Wing folded in the outside squares and made a hole in the asphalt when it hit. The guy from Ark crashed another airplane, and we decided to quit. I ended up with 466 and it was good enough to win. I also won a Lew Woolord tuned Super Tigre 34. I'm going to put it in my 526. All in all a good weekend. Take care brother. DG"
