Post by: BOB ALLAN on October 30, 2017, 05:50:35 PM
A guy on another forum is seeking information on the old 1960's TESTORS GOLDEN glow plugs, specifically were they any good ? Anybody remember any experiences with 'em ? Thanks

My experiences with them were that they weren't anything special. They didn't seem to last as long as other plugs. Best plugs I had in my olden days were Gold Seal-I had them last 1-1/2 to two years of regular use.

Yep...the Ohlsson Gold Seal.
Irwin Ohlsson patented the process using a Bellevue (cupped) thin steel washer with a hold in the middle for the stem.
Then the edges of the plug body was crimped down on the washer making a very robust plug that would last a long time.

Cross section of glow plugs.
