Title: Tech Help
Post by: Alan Resinger on February 01, 2016, 02:26:42 PM
Recently my computer isn't letting me watch most videos that members post.  In the upper left corner of the video frame there is a circle with a diagonal line in it.  Anybody have any idea as to what is going on?

Video codec is probably out of date. Might try installing Google Chrome browser. It has an integral video codec and player.

I'm not sure what happened either, but this is a screen shot from my phone. Some work, some i get this.
On my computer, it works fine.

That's a pic from my phone. It's Android.
I'll check what's on my home computer. I don't remember. Like Windows 7 or Vista

That is a browser problem. Update your browser plugins

"Plugin not supported" is a pretty good clue.

Youtube keeps updating its video format, which means that you have to keep updating your plugins.  In theory it happens automatically.  But then, in theory, theory and practice are the same.

I'm agreeing that it's an end user problem, but typically when someone pastes in a YouTube link, it looks like this pic. This one is sparky's as an example. I updated my phone, but I'm not sure why some work and some don't. I think it's time for a new phone!
