Re: TBLF Stunt Contest, Bump & UPDATE.
« Reply #4 on: October 27, 2008, 09:32:52 AM »
A shameless bump here, and an update. We had a work party this weekend and moved the fence to enlarge our pit area to hold double the amount of planes previously. This, along with the second circle so generously provided by our R/C host club MCRC should make this a real improvement over last year. This also gives us the potential to grow this contest further next year with more events if we get good turn out this year. Other field improvements are coming for next year, including a poured cement take off strip for our main circle! Wahoo! :-)

If you can make it, we'd really appreciate your company. (and it makes us look good to the R/C guys!) The ultimate goal would someday be a full boogie 2 day, all classes event. But we won't get there without the turn out. Don't be too hard on us if we don't run it like the Nat's yet, but we are pretty sure you'll have fun!

So, if I'm not being too subtle, Y'all come!
Thanks
Eric Viglione

For sure, I will be there on saturday for practice ..... as I got absolutely nowhere this past weekend.  If I dont get issues straightened out, then I will be there sunday for support.  For some reason, nothing went my way either day and it seems my plane/equipment "know" that I have events to attend in the next few weeks, and are deciding to act up.   HB~>

At least I didn't crash anything .....

Larry, I should be there Sat morning for practice as well.

Be sure to bring your plane and I'll try to help sort it out with you if you like.

Hey Eric - I'm sure all will be fine this coming weekend .... it was just 'one of those days' that lasted all weekend. I had a starter take a dump, 2 bad glow plugs right in a row, one guy sticking his un-informed C/L opinions where they didn't belong, another guy playing with my needle when my back was turned, the same guy walking on my lines getting them tangled and kinked, then finding an adjus. leadout screw loose after the whole tangled and kinked lines fiasco.

On top of it, the winds weren't kind, and I didnt have the right mind set to be practicing any type of pre-flight or pattern. Took several flights to get new lines and leadouts adjusted back to my liking.  By then I'd had enough and packed up.

Nope ... wasn't my weekend. I'm hoping I got it all out of the way for next weekend.

See ya saturday!  FlySafe!  Larry (Larrys4227)

Went to the field today for practice. Found Larry there waiting... along came Phil next, Owen, Warren, etc. It was a little breezy, but immanently flyable. I'd be happy if tomorrow is equally as good. Took a few flights to get my "wind legs" back... the new Starfire seems to do pretty good in the bumpy stuff. Plane's getting well aged now, with nearly 2 dozen flights on it...heh heh.

Phil's new TBird w/McCoy35 and Vector40 w/LA40 are really nice, and Phil's getting to know them well. His little Ringmaster / Fox.35 has a cool pilot that looks familiar, I'll have to see if I can remember to snap a shot tomorrow.
Larry's got a Score that a ST51 doesn't seem to have any problems hauling.

Note our newly enlarged pit area, room for lot's more planes (hint hint  ;) )

Seeya tomorrow,
EricV
