National Aerobatics Championships
« on: September 05, 2015, 01:29:19 PM »
In another forum, Dave Fitzgerald mentioned the spectacular flying of Ron Holland.

The competition will begin on Sunday, September 20th and will go through the following Friday, September 25th.

The National Aerobatics Championships and team selection are held in Sherman/Dennison, TX every year.
Since this is only about 45 minutes from where I live, Mike Scott went last year.

Unlike airshows, this is FREE and you can mingle with the pilots and go through the hangers. All the people are very friendly  and social. There are no spectators, no crowds.

Also it is interesting the the Pitts Special is 70 years old this year! Starting with only 65HP, 200HP is is now common, The current vertical requirements have eliminated the Pitts from Unlimited competition, but it is still very common in advanced and lower competition levels

Here are some pictures that I took.

I'm confused.  Practice on the 20th is after the 15th which is listed as the last day.  Is it the other way around?
