I am looking for some .008 tin stock to build tanks with. Where can I get some? The size sheets that I need will be about 6" wide in a roll . Suggestions ??? #^

I use brass myself. I E-ordered some .010" and .007" on Monday morning and had it by Tuesday afternoon. If you dig through their online catalog, you might find some steel or tin or tinplate, otherwise, brass makes a fine tank.

Ace Hardware orders mine from K&S. It's 6 X 12 X .008. I have it within 48 hours.

Any good Mill Supply should have what you need...I use brass myself; 6" wide roll x 3' long has made around ten tanks so far...just finished one for my new airplane....I hate leadless acid core...that stuff is a nightmare on a cold iron! ;D

Brass will develop leaks. I just made a nice little tank out of the bottom of a Danish cookie tin.

I make all my tanks from paint thinner tins I get from my local autobody repair place. I ask them to save them for me in a supplied garbage bag. One bag full generally costs me a dozen home made cookies! LL~ The tin is very nice to work with. H^^

Speaking of tins...I have made several tanks from those big peach cans....none have rusted nor have any leaks. Having said that, only one of my brass tanks has developed a leak, and that happened in a crash! H^^
