Tank for flite streak
« on: June 30, 2013, 01:22:41 PM »
On my Top flite flite streak, im trying to install the tank. I dont trust the tank that came with the plane. i have a sullivan 3 ounce tank but it dont fit between the engine and the wing. Can the tank be put on the other side of the fuselage?

That's a highly recommended way to do it.  I have yet to actually try it that way, but I think I will on my next profile.

The problem with electric is that once you get the smoke generator and sound system installed, the plane is too heavy.

That is the way I mount my tanks now. Lean the needle on the ground as the engine will richen up in the air.

Especially for 4-strokes, you get a "8-4-8" break. In maneuvers, as the model slows down, the engine just digs in and pulls hard.

If you want to mount on he proper this one but it may work:

The tank for the Hangar 9 PT 19 ARF is a perfect fit but might not be available.

Brodak makes metal tanks 3-3 1/2 oz that will work.  Mounting the tank inside has been said to work but I have never tried it.

Good Luck

I find the Brett Buck tune up system for the Flitestreak to be particularly effective when used with the OS FP 20. that uses a Haynes 3 oz plastic clunk tank. Just look up BBTU and you will find loads of information. Especially Dan Rutherford's epistle.

Mount the Hayes tank on the inboard side on an adjustable bracket so you can raise or lower it. you will like it.

Chicken Hoppers work quite well on the Streak equally. Ken
