It has been a good winter for designing. One of the two latest is the Midwest Magician converted to electric power. This one uses my design for mounting the electric parts in a very clean and simple fashion. I've also added a list for the exact parts, weights, costs, and part numbers when available. That gives a person the ability to compare the weights, and costs of making up an electric setup. In this case, for a roughly 500 inch plane this setup will provide the power of a strong Fox 35 and weight competitively. In my mind, swinging an 11" prop tells us all we need to know about the power output of the package.
The second Magician is a 201 inch 1/2A version. It would be a super cute little 1/2A addition for those liking to fly in a constricted area. The airfoil is my +P version, so it it very efficient. I have a Shark 202, Flite Streek 195 and a Ringmaster 207 which all fly extremely well with a 1/2A sized package. Way too much fun. I have it designed to accept either a 1/2A gas motor or an electric setup.

I cannot open the baby magician file. The big one works fine though.

Pat, Can we get the 201 in an I/C version? I would like to try one with a Cox 049 medallion engine.. Thanks...

Did the small magician file open for you? I tried twice with no luck, it downloaded but wouldn't open. The larger one was fine.

Gil, Yes, I can make the little 201 into an IC version easily. Just a simple matter of making up the cuttouts for the motor and 1/4" square mounts. Probably 5 minutes of ACAD time.
Chris, let me reinsert the file here and see if this one works for you.

Still won't open on my phone, but will on my laptop.
Not sure why, and not a big deal, but it's odd that the file for the big one works on both.
