Title: takes a fall
Post by: Leo Mehl on November 18, 2007, 01:58:33 PM
Scott Rieses mother fell again last night and broke her hip. Her being in her ninety's is not a good thing. She will have operation next week to fix the problem. We all wish her a quick recovery.  HB~>

Lets hope she has better doctors than my mom did.  Also may she live as long as my great grandmother did after she broke her hip.  She was blind and was confined to the wheel chair for the rest of her life well into her 90's.  DOC Holliday

My thoughts and prayers are with Scott's Mom and the rest of the family.

Scott,

Sorry to hear that your mother broke her hip, my friend.

I certainly hope that the referenced surgery goes well, and that it means they are going to pin the break.

I've read so many sad stories of elderly fracture patients, who do not have their fractures fixed by mechanical means, and suffer subsequent complications.

I'll have the religious half of this family say a prayer for your mom, but I want you to know that I'm pulling for her recovery as well.

Please let me know if I my send flowers, or something else to brighten her day.

Bill

PS. Edited to add an update from the religious half. She says that her elderly PT patients who had full hip replacements, did much better overall.

Hip replacement patients are usually up and walking again the next day, while pinned repairs can take months to mend.

Scott,

I know you've been dealing with this for awhile. Hope she is doing better. My thoughts are with you.
