TAKE APART RINGMASTER
« on: July 24, 2013, 06:49:01 PM »
The venerable OTS Ringmaster has been re-designed so that you can remove the wing, stabilizer, elevator, fin and rudder from the fusleage. This allows you to transport the model in a small car or even to carry it on a commercial airline.  We have even designed the fuselage to accept an electric power package.

Actually the attached picture shows the battery we use on the Take Apart Ringmaster and the battery is best mounted under the outboard side of the wing as shown.  There is a line drawn across the battery showing where the center of gravity is located...hope this helps.

Here is the mount that I am using. It ends up in a similar position as the one above. It is 1/8" ply and the wing needs to be reinforced during the build.

MM;

We are using a 3 cell 3300 mAh battery. If you look at Mikes post you will see how it mounts.

A good trick is to mark the C/G location on the fuelage. Put a matching mark on all of the batteries you plan to use on the model. All you have to do is to make sure that you place the battery and C/G marks together and you will always have the proper C/G (always assuming that you got it right during the flight trimming process) for your next flight. Andy Borgogna taught me that one. It works great!
