Hi Tony, I'd pass on this thing and let someone else worry about it! There must be many other people on this Forum who'd sell you an original Chief if you want one1 I have a copy of the kit if you'd like one from me! Price would be reasonable!

If it doesn't have a 'pollywog' airfoil it isn't an early Veco Chief.

I don't think this kit is a Veco anything.

Way too much sheet wood for a Chief, any version of the Chief! No sticks that I can see. The Veco kits that I have are complete and don't have too much in the box. And that one piece of wood looks like a flap for a Thunderbird. Nothing that curved on a Chief. This is just a kit box that someone stored left over balsa and kit parts in, like we all have done.
Like they said on Monty Python, "Run away! Run away!"

Listing was pulled from Ebay citing an error!

Hi,
The landing gear and hardware package is not in the kit. This model kit is not complete.
Thank you

AFAIK, this is the authentic Chief first version, with the pollywog airfoil.  As I remember, plans came from Joe Wagner.
I think the plans showed two open cockpits.
