Any chance for a DWG version? I would love to study how you draw such great plans. Mine are utter crud compared to yours.

This is awesome! I'm already pouring over it!

Two questions:
1) How do you go about assigning color to different sections? What's your approach?
2) I have been trying to group together shapes that belong together like an elevator on side view. On your plans most shapes are ungrouped. Is there a value in grouping or am I wasting time?

I know this question was directed to Bradley but, I will just chime in,(that is what we do on this forum!). I personally don't bother with grouping. I just focus on layers. That is the key-focus on layers for control of the drawing.

Yes, layers.  It easier and faster.

I dunno Denny.  Maybe Crayola was #1.  I takes 4 years of drafting technology then some smart$$X comes up with autocad.

Amen brother!  Old habits are hard to break, like holding a french curve on the PC to draw airfoils..!

Truthfully, it's been so long since I did 2D I don't think about it much.  I have been working in 3D modeling for more than 6 years.

Colors are for YOU.

When you print, the really kick butt looking drawings have the correct line weights when they plot.  That is the most important thing.  Colors should be assigned to line weights.

Mr. Walker,

Does the T-Rex have an engine offset?

If it does have an offset, is the Firewall offset or is the RC type engine mount drilled for the offset?

Thanks for your answer.

Aren't airfoils supposed to have French curves!??  I'll be darned if I'll draw them with Norwegian curves ...

If you want offset I would use a 1/64 ply shim or aluminum shim under the mount.

Just a tweek...  The TRex has great line tension without much help.  Due to the fact that is has a lot of forward side area.

I am going to upload the TRex 50 and TRex Jr here in a bit.

The TRex 50 is the real killer.  I was saving it for myself....  but what the heck.

The aerodynamic design on the original looks pretty darn good, and the construction shown would not have the problem the ARFs have/had. Very useful to post .DXFs, thanks.

I will put the Trex up against anything out there really...

But most everything out there is almost exactly the same.

So, that's not really being that controversial.

I can't get it to scale correctly but I haven't tried again. Brad, what is the "paper" size you use, maybe I can trick my plotter.
