Hi Randy,
I would be interested in two (2) of the ABC VF46 P/S sets and one (1) of the FOX HiZoot cranks with two (2) FOX CNC Back covers!

FWIW,
I've got maybe three or four VF .46s with Randy's original AAC P&L sets and they are pretty much THE standard by which I judged any other engines I used back when I was competing regularly. I've since gone back to sport flying a couple times a year with my old 1986 Nats champ Citation V which now has one up front and marvel yet again at the effortlessly consistent power it provides. I'd be interested in why he's opting to switch to pure ABC versions.
Shoot, I'm just glad he hasn't abandoned "real" stunt and gone to offering electric razor "motors" in VF plumage!!!!

I would be in for the Fox parts depending cost. Five Fox 35 engines between my shop and on planes.

Randy I'm good for (2 and (2) on the Fox parts.
Thanks,
Doug

Put me down for 2 & 2 on the FOX35 parts.

Assuming the VF P/L sets will be priced inline with what Brian Gardner was getting for his sets I would go for two sets.

Hi Ted
Real stunt ABC replacements for the VF 46 engines, you should pick up a couple for spares :-)
Same timing as you have

Hi Randy,
Given the fact that my current "pro stunter" is 32 years old and the few times a year I fly it the Randy AAC performs perfectly I'm unlikely to jump into the market for the ABC versions.
I am curious from an intellectual standpoint as to an expert's opinion on the difference between the AAC and ABC versions with identical timing. Is there a benefit re the metallurgy and the expansion qualities of the mixed metal version? Run/longevity/other?
Thanks for continuing to serve the needs of the alcohol and oil masses!

Hi Ted
There are several subtle differences, they both last and perform for a long long time , and you will be hard pressed to find performance difference , but , for most intents and purposes the main difference is just weight, the AAC is of course a little lighter

Any chance the 46 piston and liner fit in a 40 case?

Yes I think they fit the 40 case ,, as they are the same bore outside, head is larger in the plug in
Randy
-
So you would need a 46 head to make it work in a 40 case? I have a 40 not sure on the amount of use on engine, just wondering if it is worth using or not.

Yes, That 40 and 46 VF's P/L's are interchangeable. I have both and am currently running a 46 P/L in a 40 case. I need to figure out how to get a bit more time out of my fuel as I can't get a bigger tank installed. It's 6 oz's and that is my max!
I haven't tried pantie hose (suppose I could squeeze into a pair!) or coleman fuel as an additive.

Hey Randy, thank you for getting back to me. MONTHS ago I contacted Curtis Shipp asking him for back plates. He contacted me today that they were now available and if I still wanted them. So if he does have them, it's only right that I get them from him already. Thanks again.
As a side note. Do you have the C/L timed piston sleeve for the OS 46La?
