My wife surprised me with an early birthday gift,,SV11 ARC,, any suggestions or experience building this ARC. I will probably power with 60ish size engine on a pipe.

Well here's a start. Make sure you check the short piece of flap that is stationary on each wing to be sure that they are glued on straight.

I'm in the middle of building one now and I've found a couple of niggles so far. The main one for me was the control system where the flaps and elevators are limited to about 40 degrees either way before binding but the unrestrained bellcrank could give far more movement than that even with the flap pushrod on the top hole so I fitted bellcrank stops in the outboard wing to limit bellcrank movement to about 35 degrees both ways. The brass tubing for the leadouts at the bellcrank are parallel so there's too much angle of the cable down to the crimping where it exits the tubing so I bent the arms down (photo in the ARF section). A couple of hinge slots in one wing panel were cut too low so the flap didn't align perfectly with the trailing edge of the wing so I glued a packing strip of 1mm ply into the slot (only glued on the low side) and recut for the hinge to the correct level.

Use a slow setting epoxy when gluing the wing halves together. I used a 30 minute epoxy (admittedly on a fairly warm day) and by the time I'd covered all the bits and pieces it was quite difficult pushing the wings together over the joiners. I've also fibreglassed the centre wing section. The wing, flaps and tailplane are now all covered but things have ground to a halt for the moment because I'm waiting on an Enya 61RE from Randy before I can do the engine mounts and fit the nose block.
