Title: Super Ringmaster trying to get a copy of formers
Post by: GERALD WIMMER on March 03, 2019, 06:52:02 PM
Hello
I built a Super Ringmaster back in the early 1980's and the model is now retired hanging on the wall and I wish to build a replacement.
Silly me did not copy the formers in the original Sterling kit not thinking they would ever get rare or valuable and can't seem to win another kit for a reasonable price on Ebay.
I'm now hoping someone has a complete kit they could copy/trace formers F1, 2, 2A, 3, 4, 4A 5, 6, 7 and T1 off.  I do have the rib profiles from the Ringmaster kits we recently built to sort out the wing and should be able to copy tail and fuselage sides from my original model but don't want to damage it pulling it apart to copy the rest .

Regards Gerald

Hello Ty

Thanks that should do the trick, I presume the modern versions of the Super Ringmaster have a better (lighter) wing construction but share the same fuselage cross sections.

I gave a virgin kit for the Matt Kania ringmaster delux , which appears to be wot you had , as in identical , to the BOLTONS , where it would likely still reside , along with a bubble canopy .
So a good twist of the arm ( or Neck ) should see you right, there.

Save the Canopy for ME ! .

The timber should be 'well seasoned '. suitable for the youngsters . Dense .  S?P LL~
The whole thing was mint , was 60 or 80 bucks here .

This ,I think .

Hello
Thanks John and Matt I have followed up and emailed those suggested .
The Super Ringmaster is not a slender modern looking model but I like its curvy lines and old world charm!
My original gave me many delightful flights even if it was a little porky being an original Stirling Kit so needed no tail weight with its Enya 45 and those soft wire undercarriage would splay outward on even soft landings. Only ever got dinged transporting it and when the silk perished and started to go when you handled it .

Regards Gerald
