Title: Super clown ARF bash
Post by: Bob Johnson on June 13, 2008, 01:16:09 PM
OK, it started out as a simple silver Super Clown ARF, but I couldn't leave well enough alone. So here is what I did to customize it (not in order).  1. strip and recover/ paint pre- WWII theme, added panel lines. 2. carved wing tips and adjustable lead outs. 3. new "fixed" flap. 4. rip stop nylon elevator hinges. 5. Tail wheel and stooge hook. 6. Carbon arrow shaft push rod. I think it turned out A-OK,  thought I'd share with others.
Photos: 1. In the center of gravity harness showing bottom
           2. CG harness and tank mount clips
           3. Left front
           4. Detail of panel lines and push rod
           5. Right side
           6. OS 20 fp for power.
Thanks for lookin'

Bob

Hope it flies as great as it looks.  More work than I would ever put into one.  By the way, what is the final weight?  DOC Holliday

Final weight is 30 oz. I know... I could loose 2 or 3 oz. by switching to a Fox 35 or maybe just lose the muffler. I'll see how it flies first.
