Sunken glue joints
« on: October 25, 2023, 03:11:13 PM »
What causes glue joints to sink? CA or sigment all joints seem to sink when dope is applied. And I am using non taunting clear butyrate.

Cements shrink just like dope does.   You might expect when you apply dope the solvent can soften the glue enough to trigger more soaking/shrinking.  Yet another of the joys of getting a good finish.  Grab the Kombi putty!

I know Ambroid/Sigment/Duco will dry out and shrink, but I have never witnessed CA type adhesives shrinking, in fact used properly you can hardly see them. D>K
