I'll try to remember to call Pete Peterson. I can probably be there, and have a key card, as does Pete.

Mike and Alan R. are headed to Madera in the AM. I'm going to saw open the Mutant Magnum in the morning, after a couple telecons with Da Dirt. Trying to figure out why it seems to fly differently than we both thought it did...uber small insides, uber big outsides. May need some of that hot pink duct tape that Rex likes so much. Hopefully, it doesn't get that far!   VD~ Steve

Have a good time y'all.  It's supposed to be rainy down here, just in time for me to have a nice plane (the Atlantis) finally ready to fly.

I trust you ended up with the LA 46 in it.

Mark, it's only 500 or so miles to run down to Klamath Falls. We will fly with you and provide an airplane that is far below your standard.

Mark, are you bringing the green machine?

Aren't all of Mark's airplanes green? Except for the Bf-109, of course. Well, "camo" is kinda green. Uh, bring one of them, Mark! y1 Steve

Those aren't airplanes, they're John Deere tractors with wings!

Did anyone meet up with Mark? Hate to have him going home feeling unloved.

Yea, 4 of us showed up. I even got a ride on Mark's plane. Rainy on and off and dead calm. It was fun.

Really, it was just foggy and a little bit misty until our intrepid pilots pretty much got scared off by the zero drift conditions. When you hit "wake turbulence" in a place your plane hasn't been yet, it is a little intimidating.

You going to be here for the NWSR Annual Banquet again, Russell? Vince's again, it appears.  S?P Steve

Steve, I noticed you didn't have a plane there.

True, dat. But I did have a key card for the gate, and I was there early! The knee problem has me a bit discouraged about flying until it's fixed. The XXXtra strong anti-inflamitants  are certainly helping, especially help me sleep, which had been difficult. But not easy to be alert, either.

It's really annoying because I'm not sure how I twisted it. I'm thinking it was while mowing the lawn, and I'm sticking to that story. I'd hate to splash an airplane because I fell on my face or wasn't nimble enough to regain line tension. But maybe that's just me?  :-[  Steve

Yeah knees can be a problem.  Its been over a year since my last injections on the knees.  It just that I can't stand or sit too long as then I have to loosen them up again.  They are the reason I lost the P-39at Tuscon a couple of years ago.  Just need to work harder on the exercises.

yes,, there were four of us,, Pete Peterson was also in attendance flying his really nice new Nobler

I flew I recall three times,, Randy took a ride on the green machine and allowed all the weirdness while I was flying was definetly Not the airplane,, sigh, LOL

Pete hasn't seen me fly in awhile and commented maybe that I had been practicing,,

It was Dead calm,, felt like flying in a vortex of nothing,,
I had the Impact rocking its wings on top of the hourglass, overhead eights,, and like Randy said,, places I hadnt been yet,, I elected as how since my footwork for walking backwards is still developing,, and I couldnt predict where the dead air bumps would be,, I was tired of seeing top and bottom of the wing on a regular basis,, so I didnt do any more flights,, though I narrowed my handle one notch as I had been contemplating this change, and Randy after flying it agreed,, the flight after was much smoother and still able to make good turns,,

so progress was made,,
after which we made our way to the local fine dining establishment for a two hour lie swapping session  LL~

And people wonder why I carry a plane just for fun.   Nothing like doing the pattern with a Ringmaster or Flite Streak going flat out as fast as the engine will go.  Also the Bi-Slob doesn't care if its calm or a little breezy.
