Sunday at the field.

It was supposed to be 1/2A day but turned out to be a Ringmaster kind of day.

Awwww...some fun there! But what's with the guy in the maroon T-shirt flying with the safety thong dangling? Loss of an attempt in the serious world! If your club has a Safety Officer (should!), there may need to be a discussion. Maybe a fine or slap on the wrist, such as "You bring the Gumbo next time!" y1 Steve

In 1944 18-20 year old's stormed beaches, and parachuted behind enemy lines to almost certain death.  In 2015 18-20 year old's need safe zones so people don't hurt their feelings.

HI Steve,

I was wondering how long it was going to take somebody to comment on that and you zeroed right in on it.  He is our safety officer.  Now, here is why the safety thong was dangling:  I was originally flying the model and it has been a while since I flew.  I had the thong on my wrist.  I yelled for him to come out and take the handle because I was afraid I was going to fall.  I slipped the thong off my wrist and transferred the handle from my hand to his.  About a minute later, the battery died and he landed the plane.   And as Paul Harvey said, now you know "the rest of the story."

It was supposed to be 1/2A day but about 95% of the fliers could not get their engines to run long enough to make two laps.  So, we pulled out a couple of bigger planes and had some fun.

Anybody notice that Ringmaster 800?  That is a big model.

Mike

Looks like you guys are having too fun.  Hopefully another week I can get out again.  Finally went to doctor yesterday and found I may have a compressed disc in lower back.  Over did the brush cutting, hedge trimming and work on utility trailer replacing the draw bar/tongue.  Bee three weeks and it never lasted this long before.  Loaded with more pills and feeling better.   Been in the shop working on new plane and just relaxing.  No problem using riding mower but every thing else hurts.

Again thanks for the pictures.   Ringmasters rule.   H^^

Be careful with those pills and working on the models, Doc. You don't want to end up with a bunch of canards by accident, or outboard wings longer than the inboards. I feel your pain, tho. I powerwashed almost 2 weeks ago and am finally feeling good enough to think about finishing the other half of the job...for the HOA...for the price of the gas (I hope, @ $3.99/gallon for non-alcohol premium!).   n~ Steve
