Title: Suggestions
Post by: Mike Griffin on October 16, 2012, 04:41:02 PM
I am looking for a set of plans for a P40 profile.  Who has produced a really nice and good looking plan in a profile for this plane?

Thanks

Mike

Pat Johnston.  Sized for a LA46, it is a very nice profile.  He is in the members list.

Also Don Hutchinson.  He has a series of about a dozen "Warbirds" which are very scale like and great stunters.  There are a couple variations of model on the plans.

Mike,
Oops.  You are looking for a P-40 Warhawk type profile, not a P40 profile model.

I was going to suggest the Phacade.

Pat's P-40 (kit or plans or arf/arc, your choice) with the dihederal put in per the original design would be my choice. Pat has the plans, and can laser cut you the ribs, maybe an entire kit, or you could get the kit or only laser cut ribs from Brodak.  y1 Steve

I  tell you, you can't go wrong with PJ'S or Don Hutchinson's designs. Both of their designs fly very, very, well. I've seen both designs fly many times and in my opinion their profiles designs are equal. Both have won a lot of contests and high placings in DVIII and D V. Don's T-6 flown by Joe Gilbert is dynoomite with a Saito 40 and also flew equally well with I believe an LA46.

       Yea,
Mike, I believe Don is coming in with Dale Gleason. I think Don will be flying his profile Dautless and Dale will probably be flying a newly designed profile CUB-J-3 that Don drew-up a few months ago. You will also see the yellow T-6 that Joe Gilbert flies.
