In a fit of curiosity, I tried to save and convert to zip file and had no luck doing that. Anybody able to help do this?  :-[ Steve

Not convert in any way -- rename.

My window-fu is old, but you should be able to go to the containing directory in file manager, then right click the file name, then click rename, then delete the "doc" from the end and write in "zip".

Steve,

I run three Macs and a PC.

Send me the file and I'll see what I can do with it.

Well, sure, that's the first thing I tried. Doesn't work, 'cause it still says it's an MS Word Document.  I haven't found a way to fix that. I looked at posting it, and it now says: STUNTRIB.zip.doc, which is still useless. Could somebody convert it to a .zip and email it to me? Please? Pretty Please?  H^^ Steve   sbasser at yahoo dot com

Even more important to posterity -- does anyone have source code?

Hi Steve,
Assuming you are on Windows it sounds like you may have "Hide Extensions for known file types" checked.

You can access it through "Control Panel" - "Folder options" - Then hit the "View" Tab. You should see the option a little way down. uncheck it and try again.

When you attempt to Rename the file you should get a Warning saying if you change the name extension the file may become unusable. (Just ignore it and click yes).

I can't send a mail because gmail does not allow zipped executables as attachments sorry..

Tim, Larry's computer is in safe hands and work is proceeding—albeit slowly—to reissue the plans for Mo'Best and to kit Mo'Best and Mo'Beast.

At this point, nothing is being done with the StuntRib code but I believe that it is safe.

I had no problems extracting it using Ark (sorry, I have a Linux system). Works fine and thanks!

Larry told me he lost the source code for Stunt Rib. He was working on a new program to allow plotting for elliptical wings both in planform, ribs and spars. I have an early version, but it wasn't functional yet. Pretty cool though. Hopefully, someone has the new program code.

Steve,

I've used it before. Pic a NACA airfoil to use then just take measurements from the plans and export to .DXF file. then you can import each file in a CAD program and print them out (unless you happen to have a printer attached to the lpt port then you can print them out directly. Just read the Read Me file and it gives a pretty good explanation. I needed it because I'm building a true elliptical wing (both planform and vertical taper). Stunt Rib make it easy to come up with ribs for such a wing.

I would be the one with Larry's computer and all his files...and there is a lot of them.  There is a small core group working to keep
Larry's work out there.  I have seen the Stunt Rib files on his computer, but have not checked to see if he finished the latest version.
Guess I'll look into that.
