In a Nats-eve Stunthangar exclusive, West Coast Junior Varsity stunt flier and once-prominent combat flier Howard Rush announced that he has chosen to remain with the Jive Combat Team, despite attractive offers from the Philly Flyers and the Hernandez-Delgado-Diez Miami stunt posse. "The Philadelphia guys --you know-- clearly have the most fun," Rush said. "The Miami posse are certainly winners, but they didn't outbid the JCT, and I want to --you know-- go to VSC someday, and I don't want any trouble --you know-- getting into Arizona." Knowing Rush, "scenery" was a factor. "The East Coast girls are --you know-- hip. I really dig those styles they wear. And the Southern girls --you know-- the way they talk, they knock me out when I'm down there." However, tradition won out, plus the fact that the Jive Combat Team has not run out of its original 1973 stationery.

Since you are currently in Muncie, did the Midwest farmer's daughters have any Impact in the decision?
-
I missed - you know - the television special on this blockbuster announcement, so it was , you know, great news, but not,you know, unexpected. Ed

Thank you for that report, LaHoward.

You know you've "made it" when they start trying to steal you away from the competition.

I'm sure those here in the Cleveland area highly value what they see as Howard's loyalty. Perhaps the NCCL bunch will put in a high bid next time to secure Howard's services here in the ...um...huh, yeah, here in the...whatever! At least Howard doesn't play those sissy games, where the athletes seem to be wearing dresses. Now combat - there's a contact sport for you. Still, maybe Howard will find some spare time to win the NATS CLPA title...even if that does increase his free-agent price some.
All kidding aside, despite the economic loss from losing one, uh, basketball player, we still have a lot of great things here - lake, world's best orchestra, parks, planes,...come on up after Muncie, Howard! We can work on that line integral.

Well when you come back up for -- you know-- free agency then the offers -- you know-- could be higher! Let me know --you know-- if you need --you know-- a new agent for the --you know-- contract negotiations.
BTW: the Southern Girls really --you know-- knock me out! --you know-- literally!

Howard,
You don't-you know-have to divulge how much your agent made on the deal. I mean-like-don't feel pressured to have to discuss numbers. Check-it, it's not like i'm trying to get all up in your business-you hear what i'm saying. Hey like-when you have a hot hand-or handle in this case, you have a hot hand-you know.
I just hope like-you remember us when you bust that move, and don't diss your old posse-straight-up. :(

My sources say that JCT offered Rush 70% of the franchise, a new home in CA., and life time employment after his career is over. Not a bad deal for this stage of his career! LOL!!!!! The signing bonus is still under wraps....

What? No press conference?

John,
Did you miss it on ESPN 13?? Wow, live coverage from Muncie.....

Well the west coast has the sunshine and the girls they all get so tanned so it would seem like a no brainer to me. I hear Phil threw in a six pack of lipos to seal the deal.

Forget the LiPos, just go for a six-pack.

This proves that ALL basketball players are not dumb. Here is a multiple choice question:
You are offered $50,000,000 per year to play basketball. You can live in one of three cities. Hint, Florida has the lowest taxes.
A. Cleveland
B. Miami
C. New York
See, he got right.

Pro's problem is that states such as Kalifornia tax pro athletes for the portion of their income they earned while playing in Kal, (no. of games in Kal/total games played)*income from playing. Don't know how many other states do the same. Howard will have to stay away from Kal.

It's not just pro athletes and it's not jut California. I am currently on the hook to pay Colorado state taxes for money earned when I am on travel there. And I am pretty sure that I don't get a break on California income tax for that time - so I am double-hit.

Howard,
When I saw your subject line I thought you were going to announce your political affiliation with either the Progressive/Socialists (sometimes called Democrats) or the Constitutional Conservatives (sometimes, though wrongly, called Republicans). This could be even more important than any pro-athlete's team affiliation. Oh, well............ TDurrill y1

I think Miami agreed to pay $2 million per home game and minimum wage on the road.
Making $50 million and having to fill out 31 state income taxes (at $19.95 per state on Turbo Tax) would be almost like getting drawn and quartered.

Just curious, Brett. The last time you voted in Colorado which representative did you vote for?
You did get to vote, didn't you? I mean, I recall there was a significant kerfuffle over that representation thing a while back with some folks that spoke English with...well...um...er...with an English accent. Surely, our modern elected representatives would never ask that you be taxed without giving you the opportunity to help select who decides how much of your talent they "own". Naw, couldn't happen in America, could it?

HI Ted,
Unfortunately in today's America, it wouldn't matter to enough citizens (overall) to make a difference.

Seems to me the big time thieves (millions and billions) in our fair land speak excellent American. A truism for the world of stunt. (I know my second sentence makes no sense. But I WAS TRYING TO THINK ABOUT MODEL AIRPLANES and then...)

Correct. Barry Sotelo, or whatever alias he is currently using, is noted as a great orator and they don't get any more big time than that - trillions and counting, all stolen from our children. Or at least his teleprompter does nicely.

Well, Don Henley said it, "A man with a brief case can steal more money than any man with a gun".
