Do a search here and on SSW for "Stunt Kites". There are several good threads. The park where you fly borders the lake doesn't it. If you can get a day with 8-12 mph wind unobstructed off the lake, then that is good kite flying time. Everythin everyone says about these kites letting you intuitively fly stunts with worrying about the "down is up" problem. It will cure you. In fact, I think it would be a great introduction of new fliers getting used to a handle. Anyway, check it out. E-mail me if you want any details on dealers.
