Stunt Kites

Please indulge me this off topic question.  I know some of you on here fly stunt kites.  I am interested in trying one but I am overwhelmed by all the choices.  I know some of you on the forum fly these and I would like some suggestions.  Keep in mind the only kites I have ever flown were to old paper ones we used to get as kids at the grocery store.

Email Schultzie. You both have back troubles, and both kite and CL flying will not feel that good. If CL flying hurts, kite flying will be a lot worse, from my experience. I have flown a Stunt Kite (with two handles) and a Combat Kite. Both were pretty natural to me, from CL flying and F1A Nordic Glider flying (with circle tow). I'd really rather fly CL or F1A, 'cause my back hurts also...but much less since I quit working.  Steve

Do a search here and on SSW for "Stunt Kites". There are several good threads. The park where you fly borders the lake doesn't it. If you can get a day with 8-12 mph wind unobstructed off the lake, then that is good kite flying time.  Everythin everyone says about these kites letting you intuitively fly stunts with worrying about the "down is up" problem. It will cure you. In fact, I think it would be a great introduction of new fliers getting used to a handle. Anyway, check it out. E-mail me if you want any details on dealers. My experience with kites and those who sell them indicates that as a CL flyer with even minimal flying time one needs to demand the nastiest bad-ass kite they have in stock. If they try to divert you away from pro-level kites as they are just too hard to fly for a novice, that's probably exactly the kite you want to buy.
