Ah, the advantage of living in a "civilised" world. The number of times people drift left of center while driving in my direction has increased in direct proportion to the number of cells phones. Very unsettling when I'm on my motorcycle! Look as they go past and usually you'll find a cell phone stuck in their ear... I wish they had it stuck in another part of their anatomy!
"Let me tell you now"...If you're that "important" that you need to be talking on the phone at dinner in a restuarant, on the sidewalks, in the flying circle, etc. your should not be where you are but where you aren't!
Can you tell that cell phone abuse is a pet peeve?
I couldn't agree with you more Dick. I work in the Cellular industry, and the use of handsfree devices while driving has already been mandated in a few states already. It seems there is a connection in the case of right foot, hand, and the listening/speaking process that these motor skills cant live independently of each other while operating a motor vehicle.Such as when hearing someone's voice on the handset, the right foot stops working.
So that fixes that problem, by using handsfree, to some degree. The other problem is the driving dialer. They're a dangerous bunch too! Thats why most major cellular carriers offer voice command dialing as a standard feature.. So, everything is there to prevent stupidity on the hiways except for the consumers reading the instructions for their phones!!
Oh, and if Im flying, the phone stays in the truck! What makes that phone ring is one of the reasons why I'm out flying in the first place...... stress relief!
