Title: Stunt-A-Thon this weekend
Post by: Randy Powell on June 09, 2015, 06:14:00 PM
So, I finally get to attend a contest with no practice and not really a flying plane, but I'll be there. Fun, fun, fun.

Bring it over Saturday and we'll trim the dickens out of it.

I forgot to make prior arrangements, so I'll be singing Sunday.  Not worth it to go just one day.

My dictionary doesn't know that word any more.

I'll see everyone there this weekend.

Yes it is! You're signed up for Judging Duty in OTS and Classic on Saturday, you know.  ;) Steve

PS: Randy...Indicators are that the 2nd circle will be available for trimming (and practice) all day Saturday and Sunday.

Well, I plan on bringing my rebuilt classic plane. I'd like to at least get a couple of flights on it before flying it in classic. And I will probably bring out the elliptical pig and see if I fixed the previous issue. Guess we'll see.

The new plane is still in primer. About half sanded. Hope to get some color on it soon. Probably be ready for the contest at Auburn in August. I won't be at the Vancouver contest as I'll be attending my son's wedding.

This is the second Canadian wedding-contest clash I've heard of this year.  In the USA weddings must be approved by the AMA district contest coordinator.

Electric Skylark?  Will contest management provide rails on which persons entering electric classic and old-time planes can be run out of town?

Hey Paul, did you bring your electric Skylark?

Sorry Mike,
That one's for VSC.
It has geometric non linear controls, Igor speed control, electric power of course, carbon 3 blade prop, TruTurn spinner, MPI wheels.  Should be good for the spirit award!

And, a leaky tank does not make for a good classic flight.

Sigh....

Wow, Mike.  That brings back memories!  I flew a demonstration flight at Thun Field for an airshow when I was a teenager--flying a Smoothie.  Had to be the mid '50s or so.  I remember we had to take off on a gravel surface.  didn't crash so it couldn't have been all bad!
