Hi Paul;
I hope he does. I really didn't want to leave him stranded and I don't think I did, but I sure would feel better hearing from him. He was traveling alone and had no one with hime to help if needed, and I don't know if he had a phone with him or not. He's an old school shade tree mechanic, and he was thinking along the same lines and I was about his problem, and I wouldn't have left if I had any feeling he was going to be stuck. The dip stick for his tranny wasn't showing any fluid still after he had put in the last quart he had, and I suggested he go straight to the auto parts store (less than a mile) and get at least 6 more quarts and keep adding there until it got to at least the low mark on the dip stick. He would have had no idea how much was in the transmission, and with a bad leak at the pan, and pump pressure behind it, he could have lost quite a bit. Wouldn't have been very good for him to drive very far with it that low. He said he went to the catfish and frog leg place with everyone Saturday night, and it was shifting fine then, and it got him to the field Sunday morning, and still wasn't leaking. Been a long time since I've worked in the automotive business, but I'm guessing that it should have held anywhere between 8 to 12 quarts of fluid. Hope he checks in soon.
Dan
