Straight edges, rulers and levels that I use
« on: September 28, 2015, 01:37:07 PM »
Hi Guys..
From time to time I am asked where I get the rulers, levels and straight edges that I use in my shop, so I have decided to list the links for them.

Now with the exception of the 12' metal rulers that I use (Walmart or any of the Office Supply stores) but all the rest are sold at Home Depot so they are very easy to get without having to mail order them and the good news is they are all fairly inexpensive. As a matter of fact for around $30.00 you can get one 36", one 48", one 60" and two of the red Cross Check Levels...

here is the direct link for the one I use and it's only $3.86

This one is similar and it is magnetic, so for use with wood I don't think the magnets will work (LOL) but here's the link for that anyway. This one is only $3.25

While your there you may want to pick up a 36"($2.96), 48"($7.47) and a 60" ($10.98) straight edge / rulers

the photo for the 48 & 60 inch ruler/straight edge is the same.

Along with some items listed above are a few other items that I have in the shop that can be found on this link

Using the above link try the Johnson Structo-Cast line level set, model 595. The green one measures in inches per foot. Perfect for setting leadouts. Hang the plane by the leadouts and place the level near the nose as it's parallel and flat, generally. I start at 1/2 inch/foot nose down.
I may be wrong but I doubt it.

Is this the primary use for levels in U/C? I use a digital level for setting up freeflights but I'm not familiar with the use of bubble levels in U/C.
