Steve Changes on Pathfinder
« on: September 10, 2016, 10:39:43 AM »
Steve,
Yes I made some changes on my latest Pathfinder profile.

1-I shorten the tail moment 1 inch.
2-I had 1 inch to the vertical  rudder.
3-Be sure to use control horns that is on the plans. If you can`t have Tom Morris make them for you.
4-The landing gear was set up so all you have to do is switch the gear from left to right and the right one on the left. Add tail wheel.
5-If you put the gear mounts in as shown on plans they will be plenty strong to fly off grass. Most of my flying is on a foot ball field. I like the tricycle gear.
6-Be sure you taper the stab and elevators from the center to the tips. And don`t make the leading edge of the stab blunt.
7-You could cover it with Poly Span, very strong and light.
8-I cover mine with mono coat. Weight came out at 45 oz. I was trying for 48, That seems to be a good number for the plane.

   Hope this helps

PS: Good flying plane
