I found a way to keep dirt out of my fuel at the flying field. I measured the diameter of my fuel line at .220". So I drilled two .200 diameter holes in the cap of my gallon fuel jug. I put a long piece that reaches to the bottom of the jug in one hole and a 1" long piece for a vent in the other hole. I cut angles on the end of the tubing so it was easier to push through the smaller diameter holes in the cap. I also used different colors of fuel line so I know which is the vent. I accidently found that since the cap is one of those stupid child proof caps that I can turn it 1/8 of a turn and it seals both tubes shut for storage. It took about 5 minutes to do.

there are numerous "off the shelf" variations to this - but I guess you can claim builder points on this one <=
