The Beginner pattern is located at 15.5.1.

How well do you fly now? Can you fly inverted? Are you located where you can get some trimming and coaching help? FWIW, if an experienced Combat flier wanted to fly some stunt, then a Profile Cardinal would be a reasonable starting point...but no full fuselage Cardinal would be appropriate for most experienced Combat fliers. A Twister is more appropriate for most, and if you can't fly inverted yet, the Skyray 35 is better.  H^^ Steve

Cody,
As Steve  said if you can fly inverted learning the beginner pattern should not be difficult. If you need to lean to fly inverted start with doing a large loop and as you get to the top feed in a bit of down to flatten the top, then back to up to complete the loop. Work on this with longer flats and tighter loops. Once you can do say 1/3 a circle try bringing the ship over further in the loop (to say a third past the top) then apply down elevator to flatten the ship inverted for 1/3 a lap then apply enough down to do half an outside back to normal upright level flight. Keep increasing the length of the inverted flight till you can do 6 laps. Now you have three basic maneuvers the inside loop the inverted flight and the outside recovery. Read through the B pattern and mentally fly each maneuver (this speeds up the actual flying and save some airplanes). A good source to see the pattern flow is YouTube, there are some from the Brodak contest.

Best,    DennisT

You have the rule book. How to learn depends on your current skill level (building and flying) and what parts you already have.

Assuming you can safely fly around level, you don't need a primary trainer. Just learning basic aerobatics (loops and inverted flight) suggests simple and easily repaired airplanes with engines that not require special handling.
