Post by: Fred Cronenwett on October 11, 2014, 10:36:32 AM
Hello everyone!

We will be having our old time contest on Oct 19th at Buder Park in St Louis

Old time Stunt
SAM Slow Flight
1/2a Golden Age
1/2a Dawn Patrol
Perky Speed

Come on out with that Old time stunt model and put one the last flights of the year before it really gets cold!

Frank Beatty has some special awards for the 1/2a Dawn Patrol and the Perky speed is always interesting

This is largely a fun type club contest but open to anyone. Last years attendance was real light. I think I was the only one to fly at all! I was the only one with a OTS model, and proxy flew almost all the other 1/2A racers. I might not be there this year. I', trying to arrange to attend a local motorcycle enduro I just found out about A 50th Annual affair, and kind of a once in a life time thing. Inmstead of working on models tonight I'm changing tires on my '79 Husqvarna 250WR. Even if I don't get to race I've been meaning to do that for the last 5 years! In my younger days, I used to be able to do an honest ISDT type 10 minute tire change, now it takes me half a day!
If I do make the contest, I still have to finish the Cox Stuka flight I started almost 50 years ago! (Man it's really hard to say that! LL~)

   Type at you later,

There have been some real neat looking WW-1 models, and some Goodyear racers also. If I didn't have Bob DePue's olld stuff, I wouldn't be able to race Golden Age. I would love to have a nice 1/2A Fokker D-7 and SE-5A. All it takes is time!

Everyone is welcome at the Contest! a good chance to put in an Old Time Stunt pattern and have some fun before it gets cold again and we are hiding in our shops building models.

We have one more contest after that on Nov 23rd called the Turkey Shoot

Just looked at the weather prediction - Party cloudy and low winds

After all these rainy and windy days this will be great chance to fly!

OK, the motorcycle race I was going to was canceled at the last minute due to all the rain he have been having, so I'm in for tomorrow! Putting motorcycles away and getting model stuff out!
