St. Louis
« on: April 05, 2006, 09:04:17 PM »
I've been here going on three weeks for some product training....I get to go home for a long weekend and then back for almost four more...
I had hoped to hook up with Saprky and see what the flying was like here, but the only time that the 30 knot wind sock at the airport has been limp was during the blizzard....
TV at night has the little crawls warning of all manner of wrath...tornados, thunderstorms, wind shear, etc....

Maybe when I get back I'll get out...it's tough without a car....and it's Spark's busy time....
Ah well

I leave for Milwaukee Sunday morning at 5:00 am. It has not been great weather but when you come back maybe it will be better.

Peabody,

Bill Marvel and I fly just about every weekend out at Buder.  Let me know when you are back in the Lou and we'll see about getting you out there with us.  I'll need to know where you are staying and how to get in touch with you.

Send me an e-mail here or reply to this thread.

Thanks,

Hopefully you can hook up with Sparky or any of the guys and go visit Buder Park.  You do have your PAMPA directory with you, right!  It is one of the first things I pack when I am going to a town for any duration.  DOC Holliday

PS:If it wasn't for the 250+ mile drive I would come get you.

One of those that I am incarcerated with has a business that installed new spars in Aeronca Champions....wood...there was an AD that needed compliance...we rode down to Cuba and points sout over the weekend and drove by Buder....
We may wander to Paducah to pick up some wing parts this weekend.....but I do want to get there...we also want to get to the picnic....

Rich,

Sorry I missed you this weekend.  The club is having a picnic on Sunday April 23rd.  I'll pick you up and bring you out there if you can go.  I left you a private message with my phone numbers, call me and let me know if you can go.

I live near the Airport Marriott so I can pick you up easily.

Thanks,

Rich,

Hope you enjoyed your brief time with us - even though my ARF Oriental was unflyable!  %^

If you took any decent (or indecent) pictures at the picnic, please post them so folks know what us St. Louisans look like.

Thanks,

Steve...it was a great time....I probably should have begged a ride with you, because my "driver" got bored.....and we had some work to do on his trailer.
You have a great bunch of guys and a nice site.....I sure hope that you all write "love letters" to the Parks People thanking them for it....that kid of stuff seems to work really well.
As to the Oriental....It seems nose heavy, and the significantly offset handle bothered me...but it is certainly flyable.....
Thanks again!
