Hi Gents,
We are getting a bit closer to catching up and will have the Fox 35, LA46, ST46, ST51 sets done soon. So I'm looking a bit further ahead.
Over the years many have asked if I would do the ST G15.
So here I am gauging how much genuine interest there is.
EDIT - It looks like the numbers are easily there to do a run. So once I get hold of a couple of good sample engines we'll start on them once the current workload is caught up.

How about a G.21 .35?
-
I've done those a couple of times before, and have just recently done a batch of them. I may have 1 left.

Personally, I'd prefer Rossi Mk II/ Conquest 15. The only use I'd have for a hi-zoot G15 would be in an event where the aftermarket parts wouldn't be legal.

Back when I ran G15's the weak link was the bearing, which I could not upgrade back in the day. I could only replace them with the same weak factory part. As a result my engines were destroyed long before I considered the need for a pistione' y cylindre'.
The fix was a Cox Conquest, which, in turn was fixed by a Nelson which didn't need parts.
Maybe today's selection of bearings has the right G15 upgrade.
Maybe investing a FORA rebore would be a better business plan today.

between this forum, another forum and facebook the numbers are there. So I just need to get my hands on a couple of good sample engines and we'll start on them once the current workload is done.

I would take 3 sets of the Conquest / Rossi .15.

Brian, There were some original G-15 ABC's but they were pipe timed and not really suitable for open face running. Make sure you replicate the standard steel set. Looks like a G-21 .35 in miniature! TS

Thanks for the heads up on that.

Brian, PM sent.

The First ' X 15's , like the one on the left , had the full hight liner , like the G-15 .
But with DIFFERANT PORTING .
Will measure them up , and see if thats the only differance . tho think the pistons a bit longer .
Could be the holes are the only differance , kill two birds with one stone .
Think Diesel ones'd go like hot cakes . Tho the RV rod has detail differances , circular mateing faces F & R .
Earlier pre 75 RV rods had a oiling ' SLOT ' whereas the later beafier case RVs had the two oil holes .
G 15 rods had a tendancy to let go in the big end , with the two holes , at 24.000 .
Nothing to do with combat flyers planting them and instantaeneous 20.000 + thousand to ZERO on the upstroke . :-X
1969-72 RVD with the slotted big end . Diesel liner taller at top flange - for contra piston .

A 1965 G 15 .
All have timing around 136 / 138 . some are symetrical , as in 138 Trans & Ex.
Some have a indexing hole around 3 or 4 mm under the exhaust .
i think the ' Goodyear ' liner from the first full width Ex lug ( undrilled ) is the fastest ,
at least with the bottom of the Ex Port level with the case & 1.5 mm S.P.I.
Good for 24.000 +,
Ive got stacks of G 15 & X 15 Early P L's Std. & mod , and a few unused yet for the G-15 along with a few of the said Series One Goodyear from 1974 odd .

Incidently , THIS is the 1968 pipe flange case ( similar to series one RV - with the SMALL port & multiple bolts for the ' Pipe Elbow ' .
These came also as an ' A.B.C. ' ,
most have the port & liner top edge raised , by ' tooners ' .
Thus are NOT symetrical timed as per All the Others ' . were favoured for desiel conversion for FAI T/R by some , for the ' small port ' economy .
These are one of the rarer series of G-15 . But still all dimensionally V much the same , as is the X 15 1744 bottom end , interchangeable even .
ALSO most G-15 F.I. and G- 20/15 piston liner sets are identical - interchangeable . So' G-15 F.I ' and G-15 R V Glow
piston liners,
Will Also Be ' G-20/15 glow piston liners , not ' Just ' F I P/liners . !
this is a ' 138 - 136 ' Deg. one . Same part number piston & liner assembly .

I have put you on the ST46 list Gordon. They are all spoken for, but the list has been running a while so some may have lost interest.
I have a couple of G15's coming on loan. So it's just a matter of time now.

Here's a mob that has the rear bearing. Just pop out the shields and your good.
